Congratulations SNA!!!
We have won a Community Service Award from UC Davis and Outreach Assembly Club of the Year for Sports and Recreation from ASUCD!! The Community Service Award was granted to us in recognition of our service in helping our community and commitment to serving others. The OA Club of the Year award recognizes our efforts in promoting a positive message in health and nutrition to the student body and representing ASUCD and UCD well. Thank you to all of our SNA members who have helped us achieve these awards! From volunteering in the classroom for The Hungry Reader to building gardens at local schools to tabling at events, our efforts in promoting a positive, healthy message to the community and our school has not gone unnoticed!! Keep up the good work SNA!! =]

-Farm to School garden work parties
This month's garden work party will take place on 04/13 from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Patwin Elementary School in West Davis. This is a community service project involves helping elementary school students work in their school's garden. By participating in this event you will get to do hands on projects and interact with kids in a fun learning atmosphere.
If you are interested in volunteering please email Amanda Hoang at ajhoang@ucdavis.edu!
-Campus Bake Sale (Wed - Fri, April 14th - 16th)
This is a fundraiser that benefits the National Hunger Clean-up. The proceeds raise awareness about, and aid the hungry and the homeless. We would love your help! A sign-up sheet was circulated at the meeting, but if you didn't sign up, it's not too late! You can sign up to donate baked goods, man a table to sell the yummy donations, or do both! Please email Amanda Hoang at ajhoang@ucdavis.edu to sign up!
-Fundraisers!!!
To help ensure we can continue providing an important impact among today's youth - tomorrow's future, we need help raising funds so we can keep programs like Hungry Reader running. It also costs money to create flyers in order to outreach to our neighborhoods and communities. We think getting out in the community to get people involved and educated about nutrition is one of our responsibilities as students of nutrition. Please help us keep SNA strong in the community! If you can think of any cool fundraisers we can do, let us know! Send us some ideas with details at snaucd@gmail.com.
-Picnic Day, Sat. April 17th
Picnic day is just around the corner! We could definitely use some more SNA volunteeers! SNA will have a table providing free BMI and body fat tests, as well as featuring a push-up contest! By volunteering you will learn how to provide these services as well as add another event to your list of community service! A sign-up sheet was circulated at the meeting. But we could sure use more volunteers! Please email Julianne at jcmccarthy@ucdavis.edu to sign up!
-Open Officer Positions
Since some of our SNA officers will be graduating, we will have be having elections for open positions. They include Newsletter Editor, Social Chair, VP, and possibly a Fundraising officer. Other positions may become available if current officers run and become elected for the given positions. If you think you have something to contribute to our club, let us know! During elections, those interested will be asked to come to the front to tell us about themselves, their experience and why they think they'd be a good contributor to our association. Don't be discouraged! If you know you are passionate about nutrition, you may have what it takes!
-Upcoming Events
